If you have a dog, every day is a dog day and every week is a dog week. And, there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t celebrate your dog’s existence on a daily basis.
But, the last week of September is chosen as “National Dog Week”, and it is for a reason. History of National Dog Week Captain William Judy, a World War I veteran, ordained minister and publisher of the late Dog World magazine, designated last week of September as “National Dog Week” to commemorate the eternal bond between dogs and humans. It is a perfect time to spoil your dog by giving them special treats or going on a vacation with them. If you are wondering what you can do to make this National Dog Week special for your dear dog, we have prepared a daily plan for you, so that you can make it even more memorable. Simply follow this schedule for the National Dog Week, or maybe get some ideas from it to plan it in your own unique way? National Dog Week 2021 (September 19 to 25) Here’s how to celebrate it with your furry friends: Sunday: Attention, please! Dogs crave attention more than anything else in this world. Why not dedicate the Sunday to your little Fido by making them the center of attention? You can just spend time cuddling with them indoors, take them out for walks or play with them in the backyard. Monday: Doll Them Up During this National Dog Week, set time aside for your dog’s good looks. Bath them with a special shampoo and give them a nice massage. You can indulge them in pampering by taking them to professional groomers too. You can also take them out for a spa sesh. It will make your buddy feel relaxed. Tuesday: Plan a Doggy Date Buy your dog some new dog booties or a fancy bow-tie collar and take them out to a pet-friendly restaurant or coffee shop. This will be an excellent opportunity for you two to bond stronger. Wednesday: Get Clicked! Autumn is a great time to plan a photoshoot with your furry friend. In this gorgeous weather with beautiful leaves falling around, you can't miss out on snapping some fantastic memories with your four-legged friend that you can cherish for a lifetime. Thursday: Make a Difference All dogs in the world have the right to a happy life with their forever owners. Donate to a local shelter or dog rescue during Dog Week and contribute by providing money, food, pet care essentials, or simply offering your time. Friday: Schedule a vet visit While going for a health check-up won’t be enjoyable for either of you, during this special week it is essential to make sure that your dog is healthy. Even if you believe your dog is in good health, seeing a vet to learn more about his nutrition and preventive care isn’t a bad idea! Saturday: Weekend calls for a party! The last day of National Dog Week definitely calls for a lavish celebration to honor your dog’s existence. Throw a memorable party to your friends, family, and, of course, your dog's friends. You may add to the fun by making special dog treats for them and organizing dog-friendly activities, but don't forget to take lots of pictures so you can look back on them later! So, how are you planning to celebrate National Dog Week?
